i had to consult my notes after tonight's pickins; I've found at least one dollar bill in each of the last 5 weeks, I bagged this week's buck in the wild tonight, it was trying to elude my detection, lying still in the mulch under a bush on an embankment in the dark: tonight's haul: $2.18, along with my 2012 ASE pocket piece... and that buck is a star note... i topped the $140-mark tonight; $49 to go.

gleaming disks! tonight's largest single score, seventy-eight cents: yep, someone threw that down. i ended up with $1.54 tonight, plus 3 bottles of water. bottles of water are always a good score. last night I found $1.23, two cans of beans (light red kidney & spiced black bean; they were left somewhere, new, undamaged, expiration date 2 years away) and a bottle of water. nice of the streets to not only contribute to my stash, but to my pantry as well. totally awesome. all the water & beans is a ten dollar win... ten bucks I don't have to spend on food & water this week.

Very nice scores MrPink2018! A win-win all around! Free water and beans, heck I would take it if I found it.

we've been getting much-needed rain the last 48 hours.. as a result of last night's rain my route was cut short and I only managed to scratch up thirty-seven cents before the precip chased me home.. and we received more rain today & overnight, so I expected to not find much tonight.. it's unusual to find a bunch of well-scattered change on a rainy night, plus a wild buck.. someone left me a small pile of change at an air-vac at one gas station, and then- with $1.43 in my pocket- I pedaled over to the gas station across the street.. i was heading for the last set of air-vacs on my way home and my eyes just caught sight of that buck, wetted & flattened on the pavement... I nearly missed it.. so despite the rainy season finally kicking into gear I found $2.43 tonight $41 to go...

yes, I concur, it is indeed very nice! minutiae: the finding of last night's buck means I've picked up a dollar bill in each week of this month, and I've picked up at least one dollar bill in each of the last 6 weeks. I'm sure those are both 'firsts'. most of the wild bucks I wrangle are found in one particular place (the dollar-leaking building I've mentioned in the past). I found last night's buck in a different place, but I've found bucks in exactly that same area one time before, on january 21st this year, a wad of $11.. a one & two fives. I posted it. scroll back to january 21 for the picture. it took 11 days to get from $140 to $150, running total for the cycle currently at $151+; with 5 days left, the running total for the month is at $31+, so even if I find $0.00 in the next 5 days (which is possible, but not probable) the daily average is still over a dollar. sorry, but I have to babble a little bit more: from the 'who's laughing now' department: friends & acquaintances listen to me talk about all of this frequently enough. I used to get a lot of eye-rolls, grins, chuckles, odd comments, etc., as though what I'm doing is the weirdest thing ever. those same friends & acquaintances are now asking me about it with some regularity, because I've always pointed out to them that it adds up. hfjacinto and DiscoLover82 would both agree, I'm sure. and the pile of stuff it has provided me is a testament to that. now I'm the one grinning & chuckling, but I save my eye-rolls & odd comments for other things. I show them pictures or, in some cases, the actual sack of treasure (very few ppl ever see it) I've cobbled together over 5-1/2 years and I watch (in amusement) their eyes bulge. I have a thick, partly-gilded hide these days. eye-rolls, grins, chuckles and odd comments don't bother me, all of that just rolls off me like water off a duck's tail, or bounces off like bullets bouncing off Superman... of course, the feeding of the street kitties is how I found it to begin with, so I acknowledge that by gratefully continuing to feed them. $treet $timulu$.

Well done Mr Pink! I've found 7 pence in UK coins in the past 2 weeks (one 5p and one 2p). Didn't take photos as both were in busy streets with people walking past!

Quote: Didn't take photos as both were in busy streets with people walking past! yep, I understand. Quote: No sense risking another swooping in for the goods! exactly. I'm overly paranoid about watchers. I have to be protective about myself and my enterprise. i'd like for this to go on a while longer.
