While roll searching I came across a 1969 LMC in xf45 condition that weighs 3.0 grams, is that within mint tolerances? If it is an under weight coin what would it's value be? What category of error or variety would it fall under? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
John1

Yes that is within the mint tolerance. Tolerance is +/- .13 gram so 2.98 to 3.24 grams is the tolerance range.

nothing extra as an underweight coin because it's within tolerance. That means the "normal" weight of a cent is between 2.98 and 3.24 grams. Outside that range would be worth investigating.

And no, I would not keep the coin. It would have to be significantly out of range before I would bother with it.

There's your answer John, no it isn't worth keeping because it is a normal within tolerance cent.
