Slowly reading through this book, "The coins of Haidar Ali#772; and Ti#772;pu#772; Sulta#772;n" available for free on the net. My eyes keep rolling back in my head after page 80. I contacted a seller on ebay with a similar coin, he pointed me right here, says that you all are THE experts. I have had this for about 50 years. I defer to your knowledge. Thank you for your time

I am betting near 276 (1217). 273 M (1200) has the reverse as far as I can tell

These are from the book. I hope this makes sense to the people that know how to read wannabe numismatist:

15 M - Nope
98 M - Nope
101 M - Nope, no flag that I can see
112 M - no
113 M - no
105 M - Nope, date and reverse does not match at all
122 M - Nope, date/reverse
164 - (1198) no
195 - no
195 - no
196 - no
197 - no
198 - no, mine has a date or something
224 - no, thinking this is going off track now. Not sure what coin this is as a base. It is not AE? What is AE?
Al: Aluminum
As: Arsenic
Ag: Silver
Au: Gold
At: Astatine
Ac: Actinium
Am: Americium

228 - no
258 - mine has a date
259 - no
273 M - (1200) Reverse is almost dead on for this. Face date does not match for me
Im going blind
274 M - (1216) - Having only seen this one, might be it
280 - Why is the elephant's tail depressed? Is it sad?
290 - Maybe on the date, reverse does not match
315 M - Reverse not matching
316 M - (1216) - The date does have that circle character, reverse looks closer than not
317, 318, 319 - no, mine has date with a circle character
372 and friends up to 376, nope
382 - no
387 - no
389 M - If I had to pick one, this is the date so far
390 - reverse no match
429 M - (1218) reverse looks plausible. face does not have a depressed tail
430, 431, 432 (1216) - no
438 - no
My brain hurts, help please lol

Not my area, but for comparison to one listed as "KALIKUT MINT, MAULUDI DATE 1215, KM 73":

Yep, that's it and thank you for the bookmark! I need to run now. I'm thinking of buying that other one for no reason. I've owned my coin for 50 years and I can feel the sickness again. You know, holding old coins while reading history of the time it was in circulation, what was on sale back then, oh boy. I carry a silver certificate for conversations about the federal reserve. Gotta go before I figure out what pay services icollector takes... I haven't purchased a red or blue book in ages if that's still a thing. Thank you again!

Ok, it's me again. I am going to bid on that. I was wondering what the group opinion is on the color vs mine and whether $60 is then ok. I valued mine at $40, although I will never sell it. I suspect that the coin is real enough or it would have been mentioned here. Thanks again. Thinking of collecting colonial coins and paper too.

For comparison, this example of the same date and mint (but different variety) brought US$160 plus buyer's premium in Stephen Album Auction 20 in 2014. Mr. Album's firm is among the world leaders in Islamic and Indian coins. https://db.stevealbum.com/php/lot_a...=1497&lang=1
