The 2500 is 4.6#. If you get a lighter detector, it's because it has less power and ability. Bigger circuit boards require bigger cases, more battery power, etc.

If the distributor still has any of the specials left, $120; if it's the detector only without the goodies, $95.

The GTI 2500 has a removable battery pack that is belt mountable and significantly reduces the strain on the arm. There are harnesses that will help also.

I appreciate the desire to keep things light. I guess I've seen a lot of progress since when the old Goldmasters were the size of a priority shoebox, with the front end crammed with circuitry and radio tubes, and the back end full of batteries. IIRC, they were around 15#.

thanky sir, i'll keep that in mind.. I am planing to have some treasure digging of my own (just for fun and pleasure) but I still have other things to do - first things first.. I do not put my mind that I could find wealth on treasures as some people have... putting all their faith that someday they could strike real deal they have no idea that treasures mostly are found in their own head.. besides with just 22 years behind I still have plenty of time

biggfredd, that covers the insurance too around that 100 bucks?

That's insurance and all.

While I wouldn't suggest anyone buy a detector to make money (unless they know where a gold mine is nearby), it can and does happen. One customer wrote to say one of the first things he found was a diamond ring he sold to a jeweler for $700.

One of our first customers was disabled, but spent his summer at the beach. With a $200 detector, he found over $600 face value in coins, plus rings, some with diamonds, and other goodies. Certainly not minimum wage, but a lot of fun!

Biggfredd FYI the Ace 250 I bought from you for my wife has paid for itself in less than a year, with just clad coins she has yet to sell all the silver and gold she has found with it. It might not make minimum wage but its one of the few hobbies that gives you a return on your investment.

during world war 2 our place has been the favorite of the Japanese to hide some loots.. we've have had countless encounter with them... and some families here have been a millionaire overnight...

The Japanese on digging gold here was to purchase the lot where the loot suppose to be... some built a "dummy house" some no... then within a year or two they sell out... others just proceeded on excavating, not hiding their true purpose... perhaps have some backing from the government...

my grand pa have many stories to tell about Japanese treasures but theirs only one that he really believed in.. just a bar/s of gold he had seen some soldier hide... he purchased that lot wherein he "thought" he saw where they hide it... tried digging there and here but he could not find it..

most thought its just a talk but I because I was his assistant..

who knows? it might just be lying there

just waiting to be found
