Hi guys . I've had this penny for years but I'm just getting around to really looking through the collection . So is this a split planchet or lamination , or as my last coin posted , nothing at all ? Thank you for helping .

Lots of damage, but those areas on the rev might be lams.

Lamination on the reverse.

Please do post more questions. We're happy to answer them.

Looks like a lamination and damage. And it's a LWC, not a LMC.

Hi silverdollar . Thank you for helping me . I've had most of these pennies forever and only recently started looking through them . I've always loved coins and collecting but never took the time to learn about collecting . I have my own opinions on them from my research but still unsure on what's what . Having said all that , from me and lots of other newbies , we thank you guys for the help and teaching us .

The obverse looks like a stain. If it were a lamination, the surface would be lower in that area and the devices would be weaker. But I'm not seeing that on the obverse.

Hi Coop . I've posted a few more photos hoping to get a better shot of the dark spot on obverse . Afraid this is as good as I can get but I hope it shows more detail . I'm no expert but I can see the difference in the copper and what's missing creating the error . I don't think it's a stain .

. I wish I could get a better angle to show it . I double checked with my loop and can see the copper edge ever so slightly bent upward . Thank you for taking another look and giving a second opinion . I have a few more to post and look forward in getting your opinion on them as well . Have a good evening
