Was curious as to why the color was different and the weight is only 2.1

Hello. I'm not sure what caused this, whether it was a sander or something else but it is PMD and not an error. Happy hunting!

Not an error at all. It was done after it left the U.S. Mint, so I's Post Strike Damage ( PSD). This is impossible and it can't happen at the Mint. It was sanded down probably with a belt grinder, explaining why the weight has been reduced. (Normal weight is 2.5 grams.)

Copper plating sanded/ground/filed off exposing zinc core.
