It's easily seen as to some type of liquid came into contact, but just curious as to if it had anything to do with the partial T in CENT on the reverse to be missing... since from the looks, didn't have any damage brought to any other letters
My opinion is that they are unrelated. It looks to me like you have a splash of solder on the rev and a partially grease-filled die which affected that letter T.
