At 9 a.m. this morning (January 1, 2019), I received an email from the U.S. Mint stating that I already qualify for its Loyalty Program and free budget shipping for the year.  Quote: Congratulations! You've made 3 qualifying purchases and are now eligible for Free Budget Shipping* for the rest of the year as part of the United States Mint Loyalty Program. Obviously, I have yet to purchase anything today, so this must be an oversight by the folks in charge of the email notices (maybe the regular folks that handle the emails are part of the government shutdown).  I was wondering if anyone else received this strange message.

I got both. I ran a test order, and it discounted the shipping, so it's more than just an email glitch. http://goccf.com/t/336575

Hadn't checked my email in a few days, but I got the free shipping notice as well. It's possible that all the 2019 subscriptions kicked in and counted towards the 3 purchases.

I just checked my mail and there was a "we goofed" retraction email sent around 7:30 PM Central. Oh well!

Yes, as Taphandle predicted and CelticKnot reported, I woke up today to this email message from the U.S. Mint: Quote: Dear Valued Customer,
On January 1, we sent you an email regarding the United States Mint Loyalty Program. This email was sent in error and we apologize for any confusion it may have caused.
The qualifications for the Loyalty Program reset at the beginning of each calendar year. As a registered user who has subscribed to our Product & Promotion email updates, you have met the first two requirements for participation in this program. Once your first three orders in this calendar year have shipped, you will again qualify for free shipping for the remainder of the year.

Yep, they sent out the email about the mistake, but I can still get free shipping for now. I'm sure they will figure it out soon enough.

I was also able to order one of the proof Innovator Dollars with free shipping. I hope the US Mint doesn't come back later and charge my credit card for shipping.
