Hello, WOW, I really haven't looked to close at my Eisenhower dollars, but I've found a 1971, on the reverse, United States of America is double, slight, but noticeable. Has anyone found any data or information on this? Sure wish I could share a picture, I'll experiment with the digital...again..and maybe be able to post a pic.

thanks,
Fish

I can't tell you much, but I can say that series is riddled with doubled dies, both obverse and reverse.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder is that is why the Red Book or coin values mag mentions anything about them. I looked on e-bay, most listed were the SF mintage, Silver.

Anyway, if ya hear anything, please let me know.
have a great weekend!

They probably aren't mentioned in any of the major guides because none of the doubled dies found so far on the Eisenhower dollars warrant attention to anyone other than specialists in the series - they are too minor and too plentiful. I venture to say that more than half of all the coins of this series I have personally seen are doubled dies to some effect. It's just that very few people study or collect them.
