I am interested to find out the mintage figures and years that an indian die one penny was issued for circulation. If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction of how I could find out I would appreciate it.

Hi! This page will give you a breakdown of which years were minted with the "I" mintmark, and the mintage figures.

I suspect that the above are at cross-purposes.
During WW1, and again during WW2, bronze coins were produced in Calcutta & Bombay respectively. Most of these carry an "I", for India, mintmark.

However, pennies produced during the 1920s & 1930s display a variety of obverses. One of these is called the "London" obverse, and another is the "Indian" obverse. The famous 1930 penny has these two varieties. It's not that the coins were minted overseas, but, if I understand correctly, the dies were prepared overseas. See this website for some more detail:

I am open to stand corrected on any of the above.

Thankyou for the websites. Most informative. Is there a catalogue that lists values for indian die coins?

Actually that is not correct; the working dies were made at the Melbourne mint from masters supplied by London until about 1922. After that even the master dies for each year were made in Melbourne.
Also, there is still considerable controversy regarding the authenticity of the supposed 1930 London obverse pennies.
