"I'm fairly certain that is ED on the eagle on the reverse."

Almost all of it came off with acetone, so it was dirt after all. It was hard to tell from that photo.

I don't see those lines/scratches on the wings when I look at the actual coin, even when I change angle and try to see them.

Did you use anything abrasive to clean it?

Sometimes it's better to leave a coin alone for fear of exposing what lies beneath. I think this is one of those cases. Did you wipe it with anything after the acetone bath?

If you didn't, it looks like it was used as a skateboard.

I think it looked a lot better before. That's the problem with cleaning coins, once you do it you can't go back

The actual coin looks a lot better, even very close to my eyes with low magnification, than the second set of pictures. Could some of it be from JPG compression? There was also less background light relative to light from the flash compared to the original pictures.

You will always be the best judge b/c you are viewing it in hand. We are sort of hamstringed judging a coin from pictures. Based off of the pictures currently at hand, it looks harshly cleaned or worse. Possibly scraped across a hard rough surface.

So understand that we are not 'picking' on your coin. Just offering highly subjective opinions based on what we are able to see.

Thanks for posting it and we are always here to help the best that we can.
