Received this in change this morning. Very interesting die variety, all bays exhibit doubling with bays 3-11 showing what looks to be tripleing . Extreme plating striations running both vertical and horizontally on reverse and slightly vertical on obverse. Can't match it, help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The die that created your coin had been aggressively abraded. That is what you are seeing . Not recognizing any doubling

I disagree, every bay on this coin displays doubling, I have 3 FS-801's so am able to discern abrasion from doubling. The pictures although armature should convey this.

Not a DDR. Looks like maybe someone took an ink pen to it and pressed hard.

Hmmm very diabolical if true, tried this on another cent and didn't match. I will experiment some more and see if a finer implement will replicate. If so the culprit should be put on coin banning! My my my

Going to have to agree with luvmyCAM here. 2nd photo to me shows the doubled columns quite clearly.

I have a 1994 Doubled column and agree that it's doubling.

It kind of looks altered to me. Note the lines under the base? Reminds me of a coin that was more obviously altered before probably with a ball point pen:

Just not as strong of marking on this coin. But it does appear the centers of the bays have been altered.
