I have owned this Penny for a long time I have been reading about experimental coins from 43. This coin doesn't appear plated because as you can see the letters and numbers are sharp no buildup of plating. It weighs 2.9 grams and does stick to a magnet. What do you guys think?

Yeah, it has been plated. It's been altered. It's just Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Not a genuine U.S. Mint error.

It is a copper plated 1943 steel cent. The plating was done after it left the mint.

It's been plated outside of the U.S. Mint. End of story.

The edges look "silver" because those areas were masked during the plating process and did not receive the copper flashing.

Thank you for your opinion Mr errors and varieties but I'm asking questions and trying to learn something Isn't that the object as to try and help each other? So your professional opinion is based on what the rarity of this coin? And the odds being slim to having one? Please if this is how you are helpful than I don't need your type of help. Have a beautiful day

I do not know a lot about coins and am also learning but, I do know you said it does stick to a magnet so its unlikely to be copper.

Normal coin that has been plated. The magnet tells the story.
