I don't know much about rare coins I'm learning, but out of all my coins this is the only one that looks like this. Is this just due to age or is this a special coin.

I see nothing special with your cent. Not sure what you mean about your dime.

I see a slight purple-ish color which is cool but I think "due to age" is your answer.

I agree with above, heavy circulation wear and it looks like at some point in time this Penny was colored with magic marker and over time started to fade away.It's a spender, keep searching.
