a recent post brought this to light and I couldn't find a thread discussing this topic. What constitutes FSB on a Mercury dime? It appears that even the TPG's cant agree where PCGS only looks at the center band and NGC has conflicting standards on it

looks like there are two camps on this one. Center band only and all bands. what say you?

my thoughts on it is that the term used is "Full Split Bands" not "Full Split Band" and therefore all three bands must be fully split for the designation

There's no controversy. People are certainly free to have higher personal standards, but some people present thoes like it is the standard.

Its center bands with some separation of the other two. The center is the most important as it is the one that is most often not separated.

I agree with panzaldi , all 3 horizontal bands must be separated with no interruptions .
