I found this 2006-D LMC. I noticed what appeared to be a void in the zinc core, that appears to have happened before the coin was Copper Plated. Is this even possible ? Checking the coin further, I found what appears to be a Die Chip. The spot is Raised, not a void.

Probably spent some time in a parking lot. Copper plated over zinc on some starting in 1982 forward on cents. The coin is also showing fingerprints. Just a face value coin.

Looking at the coin in person, it appears like zinc rot, however it's plated, so that would mean the void came before thew coin was plated. It doesn't appear a damage, and the chip is raised.
Not concerned with value, just rather looking for anomalies.
Thanks for your response Coop. Always appreciated.

The C in CENT does appear to show a small die chip. The anomaly below the steps of the Memorial appears to be incuse. It is possible that it is a planchet flaw and I don't recall seeing any zinc rot case looking like that, but pics only show so much. I couldn't say without seeing it in person.
