spru Bedrock of the Community United States 12477 Posts	Posted 02/14/2018 02:25 am I haven't seen one quite like this, but it appears to be a very late state of die wear, VLDS. Often, you will see what is called a "ridge rim" around the perimeter caused by metal movement during striking that wears down the die on the periphery. This is probably the most extreme example I've seen, if that is what it is. It looks pretty interesting, so I don't know whether it is desirable to anyone or not. Generally, this type of die wear is not collectable. It's only part of normal wear and tear from the die slowly starting to break down. There's no premium for this. Your coin is unfortunately only worth face value. Errers and Varietys.
