Hi need some input on this 1984D cent strange beveled rim on reverse side and taller than most cent pieces. The front has very short rim almost flat in some places. I've looked everywhere trying to find any info on this cent piece and have found nothing so far could this be a new discovery.

To CCF! Just a very common Die Deterioration issue, caused by a worn out die from striking many planchets at the U.S. Mint. It's not rare.

Ok I've looked into it going that route and the coin isn't rare enough to be a jack pot but it could sell for $5-$20 depending on grade of coin and mint location.
Thanks for the info it helped alot.

to CCF. What are you using as references? Please post links. The coin you posted is worth one cent. It also looks like it has been cleaned, which would have lowered any premium the coin might have had.
