1982 P Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC A Victim Of Grease?

Jim0815 Pillar of the Community United States 5239 Posts	Posted 01/15/2019 11:47 am I found this 1982 P LMC and am thinking this is a victim of a Grease Filled Die. While there are abrasion scratches I don't think this is Die Deterioration as nothing shows to be moving towards the rim on any of the devises. If grease caused this the it did a heckuva job as I haven't seen a Greaser quite like this one before. Report this Post to the Staff

Tanman2001 Pillar of the Community United States 4402 Posts	Posted 01/15/2019 3:23 pm I'm not too sure this is a DDO. The tops of the letters looked to have decreased in size, on normal 1982 cents the letters are thicker. It's also suspicious that the areas affected (IGWT) have heavy die scratches while areas unaffected (date) don't. I think this is an abrasion issue, not DDD, DDO, or grease.
