Hello. I recently came across this specimen for sale, and I'm strongly considering it. I would greatly appreciate opinions on the following:

1) grade estimates
2) does the scratch on the reverse at the "AM" in "AMERICA" likely effect grading?
3) this coin looks 'original' to me, but if you see something funny, please tell me

Thank you!

Haha you saw this one too? It's not worth the hundo. The seller is over charging.

Yes, I saw your post on this one as well Grape - after I saw this coin for sale. Agree, the seller's ask is a little high, but I may make an offer on it. I trust you have decided not to make an offer - I'd hate to be competing with a fellow CCF'er?

T-BOP - I'm guessing you fell down laughing over "fsb". Well, to keep the laugh track going, here's the seller's description (note his grade estimate is 7 points higher than yours!):

"Nice white lustrous coin. Bands are a little split but not fully. There's a little scuff under the first A in AMERICA on the reverse. My opinion on this one is around MS62."

I'm thinking 75% split. This is an excerpt from Breen's big book of US coins:

Thanks everyone! I agree this coin is choice AU and not MS62 as the seller maintains. Now I just have to bide my time and see if the seller will come down from his asking price of $155 to something more reasonable! Crossing my fingers.
