These were the best shots I could take at the time because of factors beyond my control. I can shoot them again when conditions & availability improve in a about a month. If a grade is not possible, please at least comment on its genuineness.

This is a very valuable coin in higher grades. Just look at those reverse rims, they barely show any wear meaning you're in the AU range at least. Price-wise that takes you to the level of several thousand dollars at a minimum.
There are not many 1806 Draped Bust Cents in AU quality left in this world. A handful relatively speaking. The reverse looks very questionable. If genuine it's worth $5,000+.

Quote: ...can't take pics again for a month ? I just remembered that I did initially take a shot of the type set book that this cent was in but thought it was too dark to help. When I lightened it up using the Microsoft Photos program of Win 10 it vastly improved what I thought was useless. Shoot away once more if this discovery sheds more light and I'll still push for access to the coin for both sides etc...:

The fraction on the reverse looks very odd. So does the upper left leaf, but perhaps there are varieties (?). Genuine OP coin

color looked better on the last shot. According to large cents.net there was only 1 variety for 1806. S-270. The 1 in 100 looks strange compared to the example on Largecents.net website.

I know my photo is not the best but it's adequate enough to point out these interesting facial profile intricacies. I threw these partial shots together side-by-side to make it easier to compare: The purchase is on hold for now.

my first thought on this was that something was off just by the look of it. looking closer at the mouth it does not seem right as previously noted. I would be skeptical based on the coin rarity and value.

I bugged my friend to get these latest shots ASAP and they do appear a bit clearer. However, I do not have any control over how they appear or whether they can even be improved. Just let me know if I need to reach out again for better shots... I do hope that our group can now better grade and authenticate this specimen: I obviously jumped to a premature conclusion with my face measurements but this procedure is how I normally differentiate between real and fake coins, especially on professionally altered to-close-to-call counterfeits. Facial characteristics are really tough to replicate 100% IMO etc. I'm looking forward to receive your input.

For this $$, if I really wanted it, I would make the sale contingent upon verification/grading by PCGS. Or an expert of your choosing.

I don't like it. These latest pics make me think it is a cast fake.
