Sorry, scanner not working today, will try to post pics tomorrow.

My daughter received a quarter in change and on the back there is a sticker stuck on the coin. At the top it says: Missouri 1921 and on the bottom it says: We'll Remember in November

Looks like two people in canoe, but it's really hard to see the picture.

Does anyone know what the reason behind this sticker is? The sticker is exactly the size of the quarter. Thanks for the help.

This sounds like a reference to the upcoming election; also a possible reference to Missouri being a bellwether state.

1921 would be the 100th anniversary of Missouri statehood but other than that, I have no idea. I do own a Missouri quarter with a sticker on it but it is the design that was originally submitted, then altered by the Mint so it is not really similar to the one you describe- but it does have L&C in a small boat.

Thanks.
Biokemist6:
I figured you would know what it was. Mine looks similar to that but has the: We'll Remember in November at the bottom. It could be 1821 not 1921 at the top under Missouri. Sorry scanner still not working today.

Hmmm, interesting- I would like to see a pic when you have one available. I would certainly be interested in researching this more and I think I have contact info for the designer of the Missouri quarter so I might see if it was also something he created.
