I have finally completed the scanning of my Slovenian collection, and all images have been up-loaded to my Picasa albums.

I must admit I am quite impressed with the reverse designs of the Slovenian coins in general, although I haven't seen much more than the small change - I really like the idea of depicting plants and animals (some of them Slovenia's natural heritage?) along with the Linnaean names for them.

Very nice collection by the way, though the prettiest sides, the reverses are lacking?

Congrats! Those are some good looking scans. Mine always look washed out. Is that a strip of cork that you use as a background?

Matt - yeah I didn't upload the reverse images yet. Was toying around with the slideshow features, and liked the way it looked with just the date side, scrolling through the denominations. I will probably add the reverse images later this week.

Snowman - yes, actually it is a cork-backed coaster. toyed around with different colors over time, and decided that I just really like the look of the cork. blends well with both white metal and yellow/red metal coins. scans are done at 300dpi resolution, adjust the brightness/shadow a little. then rotate to proper angle, crop, and run through a thumb-nail program to make the images 200x200 pixels.

later this week I will probably upload the Yugoslavia coins (all circulation issues, complete). am hoping to complete the Croatian coins by the end of the year. (still need about 30+ pieces, but I am developing a few contacts over there that should help with most of them fairly easy)
