Hi - any idea what would cause a 1954 D a Wheat cent to be overweight. This coin weighs 3.25 grams. I triple checked the weight. I've seen them come in under but usually not over and over by this amount. This is a Circulated cent also.

Additionally I just put this coin along side of another Wheat penny and it is visually thicker. Any thoughts?

Not quite within tolerance, 3.11 + .13 grams is 3.24 grams. So your coin is just .01 grams heavy. Not enough to have any value, and as to why it is heavy, the strip was rolled just a hair too thick.
