I came across 1978 LMC that is coming in underweight. I have a couple Pics. I calibrated and checked the weight several times . Every time 2.87 grams. Any idea from the pics what would cause? I read some of your previous posts. Mines not magnetic, seems to heavy to be aluminum. Too lights for steal.

Could be a rolled thin planchet. Is it thinner compared to other cents from the same/similar year?

Yes - it is considerably thinner. I s this considered a mint error? And if it is is it a significant error?

Yes it is a mint error but not major. Check ebay sold history for value.

Ye it is a mint error, but a very minor one. Typically it would have to be about .4 grams below or above tolerance to have any significant value. So below 2.58 grams or above 3.64 grams.
