I think you've got a new one! It's a really nice one too. It's like a more major VV-DDR-001, just the DDR has switched sides. I'm no expert, but that's what it looks like to me! Nice find!

It reminds me if die damage on that area. The fields are the ouside edge of the die. Part of the fields is the bays. So a contact mark can happen on the little area. If this is damage, then it is not a doubled die. But some are listed, each attributer seems to have different ideas. Variety Vista may not list it. Coppercoins has one they listed, but declared it not a doubled die, but it is still there.

And Wexler has some he has listed. I would mark it and save it. He might be interested. When you send in your next batch to him, you might ask him about it?

I do not think this a Chip either damaged. Here is what Variety Vista has but at the bottom. Just another way around.

Bate's, Wondering if you could add a full obverse image with others above? I've got a back burner project in mind trying to gather or match up die pairs along with die states for 1969's as well as 1970's that show the need or not for so much die abrasion.

This maybe a hubbing issue, then again maybe the die encountered an incidental contact or tooling mark. Seems a couple other abraded bays show something similar, though direction differs and not as distinct. I'm no expert, but am still just curious. Thanks, Doug.
