Oh MY! It's beautiful.. !

You're definitely on the right track with the simple look (no more decoration! :)). The less frilly stuff, the more the coins and currency and names and such will stand out. It's lovely.. if I were the bride, this would definitely be THE gift to cry over!

Rest in Peace

thanks everyone! I am glad that you like it as it makes me a little more sure that my friends will like it as well. Only problem now is that I had my mind so occupied on this gift that now that I am done, I don't really know what to do with myself. lol

Honestly, if I got something like that as a gift I would be extremely excited and thankful.

Not just because I'm a coin collector, but getting a gift that someone put thought, energy and time into is so much better than someone writing a check, or buying a gift card.

Seriously, well done!

WOW!! You did a great job on that. It looks like weddees are going to receive an awesome present. I agree with photoeric21, I would much rather get a gift like that that came from the heart rather than a piece of plastic with congratulations signed on it.

Obviously going to be a great present and even more so since you made it, not bought it. You've just go to let us all know how this turns out.
Oh, on the dimmer side. One of my neighbors that has been married and divorsed several times said if I got something like that for each wedding I'd at least have more than alimony payments now.

The bridal shower was on Sunday and the gift went over extremely well. (and yes the bride did cry!)
I in fact got many offers to make gifts for other people (which I turned down). It wouldn't make my friend's gift nearly as special if I start making them for everyone.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the advice and ideas along the way. Now I just have to find something else to do with my time. :)

thanks again,
Malissa

Not to mention that if you figured your time at about $20 an hour, including search time for the coins, almost no one would be willing to pay the price.
