I'm not really looking very hard for errors in Zinc Plated Copper coins, but this one jumped out.
Before anyone says it's a scratch, or PSD the indent is WAY past the thickness of the plating, and there is no hint of zinc showing through.

Nice job anticipating my response! I'm not convinced that this is struck through mainly because of the odd irregularity to the shape, but I'm very interested to see what others think.

How can one explain how you get that deep of a scratch without exposing the zinc ?
Plus if you look at the depression, how would a scratch jump over the spots where the indent is broken in two spots ?

After a few attempts, I was able to scratch another Zinc coin, and still retain copper plating into a deep scratch. It just seemed VERY deep to be a scratch.

Another vote for scratch. If it was a struck through, there would not be a "ridge" all around it. It would be level with the surface.

In the case of a strike through, where does the displaced metal go ?

Try taking the image with one light source. (If you are using just one light source, then you might have a secondary light issue) The way to check for secondary lighting if to look through your scope and move your hand to see which direction it is coming. It could be from a window, room light or something else? But you can tape a facial in the direction it is coming and block it out.

Looks like there is a similar scratch on the reverse also.
