Help! I feel like I may have hit the coin lottery at my store this morning. First I received a 1968 S nickel with full steps from a customer buying cigarettes. Yes, I got excited because I feel it's at least a MS 67, maybe better.
Anyway, then noticed I had dropped something in the floor which I at first thought was a button off my sweater. However when I picked it up I realized is was a coin. The reverse appears to be a 1999 Connecticut Quarter but the obverse is almost blank and the edges are smooth. At the center parts of Washington's hair is visible and the at the edge it clearly says Quarter Dollar. To the left of the Q you can just make out a D and under magnification you can see the outline of some type of design. I also weighed the coin and it weighs 5.2 grams.
I've seen coins like these in videos and I know they tend to sell for a good but of money. If any of you can tell me if this is actually what I believe it to be or am I being seriously punked? (I did the best I could with my phone on the photos, hope you're show to see them clearly) thanks in advance for any info given;

Don't stress--it takes a little bit to upload. Once you've got it figured out, it is easy though.

Ok super--the pics are up! What makes you think that this quarter isn't just worn (in an unusual pattern to be sure)?

Just Post Strike Damage ( PSD) unfortunately. It looks like someone shaved off the obverse in an attempt to make a Magicians coin. It's only worth face value.

That Lincoln is no good, been exposed to a foreign substance. From the blurry picture, I am guessing the nickel is a circulated proof.

Thanks for letting me know, how can you tell it's been cleaned? That's one of the many things I need to learn!!

It's not been cleaned, rather it's stained.
The Jefferson is an impaired proof.
