In my experience, the reverse (eagle) side design is very robust, and I've had some examples with unblemished reflective fields around the eagle that are quite marked up on the other side. So it is the denomination side that tells it like it is. You can find MS example of this type for sale on ebay that have a few contact marks on the denomination side, but still with plenty of luster in the fields around the numerals.
It looks like the scan shows some wear around the edges of the numerals on yours, so I'm thinking a grade in the AU range? (though it looks like a really handsome example!)

Indeed!

Though those German Empire cupronickel coins are very tough to sell except for the scarcer mints. But if it's an addition to your collection, great looking coin for next to nothing!
