Thought I'd follow up here as to why I mentioned 1969D FS-901 No FG, when the FG is clearly visible here. I'm trying to pay more attention to die states for 1969 and 1970 cents.
The cause and effect of floating roof's and No FG during this time period is not in question. The fact as to why so many dies were easily effected is.
While researching something else I ran across what I thought an interesting tidbit concerning a specific 1969D FS-901. See the PCGS CoinFacts link that follows at what auctioned off just two years ago this month.

I'm sure the high grade attribution helped, but wondered how much influence the FS-901 attribution made for an excellent example of die abrasion? Seems to make a lot of "cents" to hang onto the nice ones. Thanks, Doug.
