I am just starting to try to put together a set of Jefferson nickels just from rolls I can get my hands on here. I found this nickel in one of my rolls and was just curious if this is a cameo?

It IS a proof and it is very, very rare to find those in circulation. It's been beat up quite badly. As far as a cameo, in that condition, I doubt it would qualify.
Your find is very interesting from a curiousity point of view.

Also, here's an update on the set so far. I had exactly 3 rolls of nickels that the bank gave me by accident after telling me that they didn't have any US change.

Out of those 3 rolls the oldest was a 1941 in REALLY rough shape, the coolest of course was the 1980s proof, the most valuable (IMO) was a 1992D in ms grade with full steps.

and once I separated them all out I ended up with a nice little mini set starting 1960 ending 1999. I am only missing 7 nickels to make that the full 40 years. Not bad for 6 bucks. Of course now I am obligated to actually get a hold of each mint mark for each year and make sure I have the complete set from start to finish.

Rest in Peace

Here is two 1970-s nickles I found lately in my roll searches. I just started my nickels, dimes and quarters roll searching. It should keep me busy for a while (years most likely) I thought I better jump on the roll searching band wagon and go for everything at once. Who knows what I have missed already and get them out of circulation and in to my albums. OH and I'm going to start a auction tonight for one of them if anyone is interested.
