looking for some info on the 1982 constitution nickel dollar
back in 1982 I got 17 nickel dollars from diferent banks
i decide to look for the Tin Planchet variety
well I did not find any.
i decided to weight each one of them looking for the Tin Planchet
well I dont have any.
heres what I got.
using a fusion pro scale 20gx0.0001 well very precise machine
here are the weights
1- 15.419 1- 15.378 1-15.459 2-15.494 2-15.605 1-15.480 1-15.498
1-15.520 1-15.397 1-15.486 1-15.356 1-15.670 1-15.375 1-15.512
1- 15.353.
well the actual weight is 15.620
any one knows what is the tolerance for this coin--- I re-weight them and I get the same weights

thanks for any input on these weights

Your coins are less than +/- 2% , well within acceptable limits for nickel coins.

The "actual weight" is a target weight, not a defining characteristic of each coin.

Tin Planchet

Do you mean Thin Planchet; don't mean to be overly picky about a typo but I have never heard of a Tin Planchet and would be interested if this is a known variety.

As to the Thin planchet... some more info here http://goccf.com/t/103503. The Thin Planchet is noticeably thinner, quite a bit lighter and poorly struck. You shouldn't need a scale to identify one if in a group.

The thin planchet weights around 7.7 to 7.8 grams. They also occur in other years. I have one from 1982 Constitution and 1980 voyageur.
