The cent has a variety of issues, and they appear that they may be PSD, PMD, but on the other hand they also appear that they could be errors. Before I toss it, could I have some opinions please. Some of the Reverse lettering looks oddly formed.
It's a Struck Through Grease issue, since the devices are widened, but it's too minor to have any value over face value. You can safely toss it back in your spend pile.
Thank You guys. I was curious about the words, 'States', and 'America' on the reverse. The tops of the letters seem sharp and full height. Is that still Struck through or some form of damage to the coin ?
What causes that is that when a die is discovered with some grease on the die, they will wipe it down with a cloth. This pushes the grease into certain parts of the die filling some of them, and others with no grease in them on the same device:
