That's actually a zinc rot bubble forming on the mintmark, from Spilt Plate Doubling. It's Post Strike Damage and is only unfortunately worth face value.
Thanks EV ! It is what I sort of figured... but sometimes I question things a bit. ;) Especially when I took a break... kina nice to have fresh eyes... but start doubting myself. LOL
It is not a doubled die. In your title you use D/D which to me indicates doubled die. It seems you are talking about the mint mark and if it is "doubled" but that would be a RPM, which it is not. It is zinc rot from split copper plating. John1
