After missing a couple Saturdays and Wednesdays over the last month or so working all day and half the night, things have slowed enough that I have a couple weeks off of my real job to dedicate myself for full time at the shop

I have picked up quite a stack of coins over the last several weeks, I hope you are all ready for this ! I will post some here, but there are many that belong in other forums. I will post links to them here, but that will take me some time. As usual they will be at the bottom of the page.
By the time I finish posting all of these coins, I believe I will have surpassed the 500 post mark- I think a contest is in order

I will be giving away the previously mentioned "Silver Bull" 1 oz .999 silver round -see contest forum later, I will try to post it tonight (Sat.) if this does not take all night ...
Well... silver has taken a real downturn the last couple weeks, and since the shop pays 96% of melt on gold, and .60c behind spot for silver...you can do the math, he has lost some money the last couple weeks. The lines at the door in the morning have stopped, but they still come in a steady stream all day long to sell their gold and silver. I did see Adrianne Palicki's father in the shop again, turns out he is a war buff, and the shop owner sometimes comes into possession of various war related materials so he stops by to check it out.
Last Wednesday night a couple older ladies came in and needed some help getting the stuff they were going to sell into the store, so I grabbed the dolly and went to load up. These ladies had in the neighborhood of 4000 dollars in 90% silver halves dimes and quarters. So I spent the next hour and a half at the counting machine getting very dirty fingers ! And they left with a check for 46,000 dollars and change.
I have now spent the better part of this week looking at the Mercury dimes- there were almost 10,000 of them ! Apparently one of the women's husband had been a dealer, so we thought it would be a good to have a look through them. Not finding much, but there were quite a few nice XF/AU coins in the first batch, and those sell pretty well since they are really nice looking coins. They were all dated from the 30's through 45, so I am guessing the other bag is the earlier dates. No 42/1's yet..but a half dozen micro- O's.. I'll put in a full report when I am done with the other 5,000.
I did manage to get some more toned coinage (imagine that

) The first group is actually clad dimes, I have not seen many clad coins toned this nicely- I wish I had the album they must have been in at one time- check these out- and these were in the change drawer ! Someone probably brought in a set of Roosevelt's in an album and the clads were bought for face along with the silver ones in the album. Often there are early BU memorials in the register for the same reason.

Oh yea, those aforementioned ladies also had a U.S. Mint bag of 1968-D Lincolns..there are sitting right next to me..as yet unopened

And how may 1887 Morgans can one man own ? Just one more please ! I thought this one looked pretty good, and has some pretty nice clash marks obv and rev. which do not seem to show up in these pics.

I also see alot of these 1896 coins toned with this pink hue, the pics show a little browner color, it is a bit more pink and lustrous. I kinda like them and had to stop myself from acquiring a couple others to save for other coins !

I did get some good change in the register again, a 39-S Jefferson made its way into a 2x2 . It is in pretty decent shape for a coin of its age, and a semi-key coin. Always nice to acquire things for face value !
You have to imagine the coin without those white specks on the obv, I did not notice them until after I edited about a hundred pics...I was not ready to take ANY more !

I picked up these Walkers awhile back... Nice AU coins with some of the freakiest toning I have ever seen . It looks so thick you could chip it off the coins, and the reverses are very lustrous and white.

Well, I have this next whole week at the shop so I hope I can find some good stuff ! I have about ten more coins to post , and a contest to get up here. Edit with links as soon as I can , Have a great weekend everyone !
