Hello geniuses, I have a question for all. I've been one here for about a month now, and I'm starting to piece together a few things about different errors and damages. But what still is confusing me is the difference between Machine Doubling and Double Die (obverse or reverse). I can't really tell, for it might be my amateurity or just plain loss of common sense.

Thanks so much, and feel free to comment anything :))

Not to pile on but there are many forms of doubling to learn. Here is a link I have bookmarked long ago. Read and re-read it as well as bookmark it. Good luck ( don't forget to click on the little photos) http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/...Doubling.htm
