Good evening all. I was wanting everybody to have a look at this 1966 Nickel to see what is on this coin whether it be an error or post mint damage? It shows a symbol of some kind from maybe another coin. I am not sure but here are a few pictures and I appreciate your opinions and taking your time to have a look at it.

Not an error. Just PMD
Looks like it has been struck with something
but certainly didn't happen at the Mint.

Not the first two images. What do you see? You can see where some acid was placed on it and the surface is eaten way. Not sure how it was dispersed, but it looks like it was sprayed, which is dangerous. But the images show the surface was eaten away.

It makes me wonder what a person is thinking to have nothing better to do than to alter coins I guess Coop.

All altered coins have a purpose. What is that? It is an attempt to create a mint error coin. When they realize they have failed, they spend it. If they don't spend it, they sell them. Or job is to educate to expose the fakes and reveal the cons for what they are. That is why I always show what I see on every coin, what is and what isn't collectible. That way, they will know the next time they see it again on the next coin, they will know what it is. I feel this is better than a yes or no answer. Along with helping one person, I realize that others read this and benefit as well. I'm so glad to see others do this as well. It makes me happy to see that others see that as well. Pay it forward and you will see the same joy of a job well done, rather than a yes or no answer.
