2007 Washington State Quarter

It looks like 2 extra layers on the mountain top and also an extension of one of the waves. Nice extra's on the coin (IMHO!)

The 'eruption' at the top of the mountain looks like die chip / die wear, but the extra wave sure looks like it could be the result of doubling on the die of the wave below it. Only thing that worries me is most single-squeeze doubling found today appears around the center of the design and this is on the edge.

The "extra wave" is a die chip. A close look seems to indicate evidence of a tiny die crack extending from the tip of the die chip. That lends more credence to the die chip concept.

The extra mountain top is either the result of die wear or again, a minor die chip.

Good eyes catching the die crack leading into that extra wave, Bill. I agree completely that it's a die chip.
