The date looks a little thick and most of the die markers match up with 007 on coppercoins. Would appreciate any thoughts or opinions. Thanks in advance!

Could easily be one of the mild class 6 dies for that date. The wider tail of the 9 is often what first catches the eye, but take a close look at the E of WE to get a better idea. If the lower horizontal bar of the E has a distinctly triangular pointy-up tip then you're on to something. Doesn't mean it's a listed variety, but tells you there is at least some doubling going on. 1DR-007 has a really obvious die chip behind the nape of the neck, which is more characteristic than the other markers.

The Design that year on the bottoms of the 4's was retouching of the master dies.

Pam: Here is what to look for on the 1944 DDO cents for a class 6 doubled die:

Note the last 4 on these images. Also the '9' as to what a class 6 doubled die looks like.
