My name is matt and I'm still new to this and could use any info on this 1948 penny that has the letter T in the left wheat stalk. Pics are the best I could grt so please try and do the best.. Poasible value and the type of error if its possible.. Thanks

to CCF. Please crop photos before posting. Need clearer pics and a close up. Might be a dropped letter or just post strike damage.

PSD occurs anytime after the coin has been struck.

Your coin is showing Post Strike Damage ( PSD) on the left wheat stock. It's not an error.

Yea my thoughtless a#× decided to use my shirt to supposabky easily wipe it off and thats what I was left with after that.. It didnt have any marks or scratches before that, actually looked like a reddish color and shiny..

Also of you look at the word united on that last pic the letters. U I T AND E ARE not anywhere as marked as all the others..

with John1. Tough to call with the current images. Could go either way.

If wiping with your shirt removed some surface debris, Following all precautions, I'd try soaking in acetone over night. Then without rubbing or scrubbing, dry with a paper towel. and set aside until I could get a closer look.

Macro images and I don't get along. Proper equipment is needed. Thanks, Doug.
