The image is a little fuzzy from enlarging but does this look like Serif or Sans Serif? To me it looks like Serif on the "G".

Thanks,
Chris

Sorry, I should have specified. It is a 1988 D.

Believe it or not, I must put it back with my outgoing pennies. I will find it tomorrow and put it up.

I narrowed it down to these two examples sowing the entire back. It is one of these two. I wish I had not thrown it back with the returns...lol. By the way, I have tried to search for the definition of the 005. What does this mean...001,003,or 005? Is it another type of grading or style of coin.

Thanks,
Chris

I am under the impression you think your coin is the RDV-006. I think it is the normal 005.

I don't know what it is as I am just looking to learn from this. To me, this looked like a Serif font from the down stroke on the G. What does the 005 and 006 represent? Are Style variations?

Here are the two images of the reverse of the 1998 D. I sure would like to know about these 005 and 006 designations refer to.

I just searched for "1988-d rdv-005"; had no idea this "transitional variety" existed.
Edit - this explains it better. http://doubleddie.com/278743.html
