I had the good fortune today to be the first retail customer to get to look through an unsorted group of ancients (some Greek, some Roman) that a shop I frequent had purchased. The overall condition of the lot wasn't all that terrific, but I picked this one out on account of the realism the portrait and eagle exhibited. It's about 18 by 19 mm in size, with a weight that comes in just the tiniest bit over 6 grams.

Not Ptolemaic. It's another Amphipolis. That's AMΦIΠO - ΛEITΩN on the reverse.

I see it on the Wildwinds site, where it's identified as Moushmov 5971 (the same as the acsearch.info link referenced above). The example they show there is way nicer than mine.
