Can't be sure under plastic. In this pic, the right obverse field seems to show traces of a light wiping, but that could be on the holder.

the surfaces do not appear to those of a proof so I'm going with MS66

razor sharp rims indicate proof to me. agree that there seem to be marks in right obverse field that could be on holder or coin. can you let us know where the marks are?

Photo is a little dark to see what the surfaces look like. Can't tell if hairlines are present.

I agree...pictures through anything is less than ideal.

If I peel this out of the 2x2, I own it. I paid an OK price shipped for this proof. There are some slight wipe marks on the obverse that I can see at 12x with the Bausch & Lomb loupe.

Later this evening, I will probably remove from the 2x2 and take some more pictures.


FYI, please use the PCGS price guide and the "shop" button - I am COMPLETELY amazed at some of the coins of this type and year that are in PR65/66/67 holders!

Looks pretty good to me. My guess is PF64/65 don't think any higher. Tough date and a nice coin.
