Wondering if you guys think this is doubling. The split in the L & I of liberty and the extra thickness of the 8 & 2 in the date and finally the E in America. Is the coin just too beat up, plating problems or doubled die?
Thanks: Lou

The devices are normal in size. So the mark is not a spread.

The only thing I can see is maybe 1982P-1DO-001
| CLASS 6 (MDS) from CC.Com. Seems to have the thickness in the 2 & 8 and the split in the L & I. Other than that it's too worn to make out anything else.

Except of course for the E in America which seems to be tripled, but doesn't show up anywhere.

The device on the 'E' is normal sized. So the MD affected it as well. Having one device doubled and the others normal usually never happens.

If one device is affected, then others should also be affected.
