The Indian's eye, central feathers, ribbon, and LIBERTY are relatively strong. The obverse wear hasn't completely obliterated the distinction between the hair and cheek. All four digits of the date are clearly readable.
The reverse strike is a bit weaker than the obverse. The bottom of the horn is weak, but shows. The tail is weak, but visible. There is some hair detail on the Buffalo;s back and a hint of hair at the top of the head. The rear legs have some definition, though weak.
The lines are laminations, and align in direction on the obverse and reverse. This is a metal mixture issue. The small corrosion spots might be addressed with conservation methods such as an acetone bath.
