Are the motto letters cut off on the edge area?

The weight is way off and it isn't correct. It's supposed to weight 3.1 grams.

The penny plachette would weigh weigh 3.1. Since it appears to be a different one it would weight different. It would weigh whatever that planchette normally weighs.

First,

A specific gravity test would rule in or out whether the cent was struck on a dime planchet.

A dime weighs 2.5 grams +/- mint tolerance. A cent weighs 3.1 grams +/- .13 grams. Because a lot of the surface is worn down, that would explain the weight loss of a copper cent.

The surface is showing an acid bath.

So the weight should be less than a silver dime if it were a dime. But The color should be correct for a dime or a cent. Which color is it?

It is silver in color. The picture is a little darker than the coin in natural light. The edge of the coin is silver also.
