It's March 7th and here in SE Wisconsin we still have several feet of snow on the ground and had below zero temperatures earlier in the week.

A year ago next week I was digging up silver coins at a local park.

This year I'll be lucky if I get out before the beginning of April

Hello from Ottawa. I though that you were describing Ottawa weather.

You have my sympathies if you give me some in return.

Perhaps a group "Poor baby!" is due for all of us in the north with detectors just sitting there waiting.

Man we were lucky in Michigan this winter, little snow.
I think I made a mistake buying a used Ski-doo for local riding.

A week of warmer weather has melted a lot of our snow and softened up the ground in spots . . . along with flooding the river across the street from my house.

Temperatures in the 40s and 50s are forecast for the coming weekend, so I just may take a vacation day on Friday and put fresh batteries in the old metal detector.

I finally got out for a bit this afternoon hunting a couple of wooded areas in town I have searched before. Didn't find a darn thing, but I did get out.
