As the die goes through normal wear this impression will tend to show. It's an indentation on the die caused by the extra pressure of the field next to the lower pressure area of the bust. I have actually seen quite a few of these in differing degrees of visibility. They tend to show up more often in the 1920s, 1953-1955, and 1966-1968. I have found them in many different dates, however, the ones I listed are where they are most prevelant. They are not considered to be an error, nor do they warrant any premium value.
