Any chance of this grading problem free?

full liberty on shield puts it at vf20 for me. not only is it problem free but an evenly worn beauty with great patina.

the 1845 had a tiny mintage of 24,500 coins and unlike Morgan dollars, they circulated. this is a very scarce coin worth in the $500-700 range in this condition. thanks for sharing!

I like this coin. It has much of its original patina and a VF+ value. I agree the technical grade would be 20.

Is that a die crack or scratch on the reverse at the top and what is below the left wing in the field? VF20-25 and possible details.

I worry about that scratch through the shield. Ignoring that VF-20, however that scratch may detail it.

I think it stands a good shot at straight grade VF. We've certainly seen less pleasing examples straight grade.

Assuming that's a die crack at 12 O'clock on the reverse, I think it will straight grade VF-20.

split grade obverse VF20+, reverse F15. I think the overall look gives this coin a VF20 grade

I think this is an easy VF-25, maybe even a notch higher. Surfaces certainly look market-acceptable if not quite 100% original. The shield scratch and the shallow rim bruise at 11:00 on the reverse should not be enough to generate a details grade.

Nice Seated dollar, generally pleasing.
